About World Vision Canada
World Vision is a Christian relief, development and advocacy organization dedicated to working with children, families and communities to overcome poverty and injustice.
In 1957, Canada’s first World Vision office opened in Toronto. Today the new national headquarters, overseen by president Dave Toycen, is one of World Vision’s busiest offices. World Vision is Canada’s largest private relief and development agency.
Today Canadians sponsor over half a million children around the world. Child sponsorship helps fund World Vision Canada’s international long-term development projects.
What Makes World Vision Canada Unique:
- As Christians, they are committed to the poor, and are called to relieve their suffering and to promote the transformation of their condition of life.
- They regard all people as created and loved by God, and give priority to people before money, structure, and systems.
- They are members of an international World Vision Partnership that transcends legal, structural, and cultural boundaries.
- They are responsive to the life-threatening emergencies where their involvement is needed and appropriate.
